Corporate Rides and COVID19

Hey folks, Andy and myself have been using some of our lockdown time to explore some additions/alternatives to our business rides and thought we’d share these with you for some feedback.

We’ve been working with Bryan Steel Cycling on supporting individuals working from home to connect with each other and meet up for virtual group rides and even to support a home to home commute time with morning and evening social/training rides. Bryan has some great technology solutions and content offers for his members which we can offer at discount.

We are working with Bryan and a leisure chain about offering their spin bikes out to businesses who wish to support their employees to remain fit and well at home and where folk may not have any kit. Again technology allows us to provide social group classes at home too

I’m sure many of you know about the annual Liverpool-Chester-Liverpool bike ride organised by Pennine Events, Mark Sandamas the owner is due to join us as ride leader soon and we are talking about providing discounted places for Pedalare clients on his range of sportives and walking events.

Its a logical extension of business networking into personal development and we’ve been talking to a coaching and leadership business who run group rides out of Manchester to see if we can support each others business. Alistair Jones, from Cadence Rides, will be joining us on 12/8 as a ride leader. He is also a board member of the Tour de Manc, so a good guy to have on board

Finally, and because cycling is all about the aesthetic….we are partnering with switchbackcollective, a cycling brand providing vintage and modern prints, and products. Anyone riding with us will get a discount on the retail cost from their range.

So any thoughts, any of these ideas grab your attention, let us know using the contact form below.

As we enter the new normal we are proposing to returning to providing our bike rides of between 35-50 miles, through the rolling hills of North Wales and Cheshire Plain.

Our British Cycling/first aid qualified ride leaders will continue ensure you experience a memorable and safe afternoon of challenging but enjoyable cycling, with some guest professionals on hand to test yourself against. We are fully insured and risk manage all our routes.

The planned average speed for our rides is between 14-16 mph and the routes are made available on GPX file prior to the event.

For the first time since the 1960’s, Elite Bicycle Racing came back to the Wirral in Birkenhead Park in 2018.

The Leverhulme Grand Prix took place on the 22nd July 2018 for the Elite and Category 1 Racers.

Not only that, there was a full racing programme for:

  • Category 2, 3 and 4 Racers
  • Women Racers

The Leverhulme Summer Cycle 2019

Leverhulme Estates opened up their land to local cyclists, young and old, for just one day. We partnered with the lovely guys from Rethink Now CIC to deliver a fun, friendly, family event that went off without a hitch.

Starting at Brimstage Hall & Courtyard, the day saw hundreds of people enjoy the tranquil, hidden tracks of the Leverhulme Estate at a leisurely pace. It also saw a few kids cake themselves in mud as they sped around the secret roundabout.

We plan on building on the success of this event so keep an eye on our social media channels for details about future events.

Pedalare is based on the idea that cycling is good for the mind, body and soul and that everyone can participate. Check out our events page to see what we are up to.

We don’t just help to understand the community and stimulate demand for a local cycling movement.

We actively support the promotion of cycling as an environmentally friendly and healthy form of transport in a way that reminds people it’s not just about lycra, it’s about fun!
